Truth is normally equal to facts being put exactly the way they are. However, truth can be different for different people based on their viewpoint. Some truth can never be disputed - for example, Obama was administered the oath of the President of USA on 20th of January, 2009. However, many historical facts that are presented as truth are more or less the way the government/victor wants them presented. For example, it may be true that a certain king defeated another in a war. However, history is always written by the victor. And hence, a further addition to this fact may be that the king fought a deathly duel with the other king and killed him to win the war. This may not actually be true, and may be a fantasy that the king wanted portrayed to project his power. However, over time it became accepted as truth.
